Goat Care & Information
Goats are very social animals and need other goats for company. We will not sell a goat alone if you do not already have them. As for housing, they need a ventilated, draft free and dry shelter to escape the elements. A large dog house would be enough for 2-3 nigerians.
Here at Muddy Creek we strive to raise our animals as naturally as possible. We do not vaccinate our goats, but will vaccinate your new goat/kid if you wish. We have found that our goats are healthier and happier without vaccinations. We keep antibiotics on hand incase of emergency, but try to explore other natural options before administering them. |

Deposits & Reservations
We require a deposit of half the purchase price to hold the Doe or Buck of your choice until weaning age and or for 30 days. After which a boarding charge of $2 a day will be added to the price of the goat, if the goat is here for 20 days after the 30 days has ended they will then become the property of Muddy Creek Farm, and the buyer's money is then forfeited. All deposits are Non-Refundable! If something were to happen to the animal you placed a deposit on then we will gladly refund or transfer your deposit to another goat. We reserve the right to retain any kid at any time, even once they have a deposit on them. Although I do not plan on doing it. We will ONLY hold a goat for 3 days until the money arrives, if we do not recieve a deposit from you within that amount of time the animal will be back up for sale.
For reservations on unborn kids we do not require a deposit. If you have an interest in a certain breeding email me and ask to be on the list for that breeding please specify if you are interested in a Doe, Buck or Wether kid at that time. We do not list current reservations on our breeding schedule. |

Pricing
When you factor in the countless hours spent with our goats, the shows we attend and the loving care we provide, these goats are priceless! But we do have to come up with a price somehow, as we just can't keep them all. So we price our kids on their pedigree, conformation and potential. We will only sell bucks that we would be proud to own. |

Before Kidding - |
About a month before kidding we give each doe a dose of Selenium/Vitamin E Gel. And at the first sign of labor we give the doe 30ml of Calcium Drench, and another dose shortly after kidding.
We put our does in a kidding stall about a week before they are due (at night only) and I have the baby monitor by me during that time. We have purchased a Barn Camera to watch the does without thought ever having to leave the house, which will come in handy during those early morning kiddings. We try to be present for every birth, and have not yet missed one.

We dip their navels in 7% iodine and give each kid a small amount of Bovi-Sera (For Immunity support) and FasTrack microbial supplement along with Selenium/Vitamin E Gel and Nutri Drench for energy. We also milk the doe for some colostrum and give the kids their first meal from a bottle, then we make sure they nurse from mom at least once before we leave them to bond. We choose to dam raise and supplement our kids with a bottle, this insures very friendly kids and that kids can be taken home on a bottle at a few weeks old, if the new owner wishes to do so. |

Guarantee
All kids are guaranteed free of all disqualifying faults, at this time we do not guarantee height. We will in no way "mask" a fault on any kid, we will be as honest as possible when writing about the kids in their description. We want you to be happy with your new goat!
Since going to a new home is a stressful time for your new goat, and we have no control over the treatment of the animal we do not offer any further guarantees. |

Disease Testing
Herd health is very important to us, we will test annually during the months of Feb/March. We have purchased animals from disease free herds. ALL animals in our herd 6 months and older tested negative for Johnes and CAE in March 2008. |
